“Tax Grievance with Elizabeth Roche,” provides a quick (3.5 minute) overview of the property tax grievance process in Suffolk County Towns. Elena M. D’Agostino, an Associate Real Estate Broker with Signature Premier Properties, moderates the presentation.

In the video, Ms. Roche tells why this may be a particularly good year for homeowners to grieve their real estate taxes. She also lists the steps in the property tax grievance or appeal process, including an assessment review, gathering evidence and comparables, filing with the Board of Assessment Review (BAR) and later with the Small Claims Assessment Review (SCAR), if necessary. She talks, too, about her fees, and the BAR filing deadline, which is the 3rd Tuesday in May.
